My Bio
I began my journey as a certified educator in 2015 and have always been interested in creating opportunities for students to connect learning from other disciplines with what we do in art class. I often have a lesson idea, create general plans and overviews, and then approach colleagues from different disciplines to see if there is time and space to collaboratively teach cross-curricular units. Sometimes I email colleagues first to see if they have plans for the year and see if I can adapt and include art projects as a way of integration.

I pursued my Masters degree because of my interest in STEAM and integrating more than one subject area with each project or exploration in art. It has been an inspiring and transformative three years! I look forward to increased levels of collaboration with colleagues on future STEAM and transdisciplinary units.
Besides my life as a visual arts educator, I also maintain an art practice, and sell artwork online and at local events. At one point I thought I might become an architect and finished a Diploma of Technology before realizing that the teaching profession had been calling to me the whole time. I suppose my interest in STEAM is a way of spreading my love and fascination for architectural design!
